We were in town for a hockey tournament and looking for a non-hotel breakfast place. Found them on Yelp and we all loved this nice little local establishment! The service was friendly and fast! It is tucked away in a corner strip mall on a busy main road but there was plenty of parking when we went for breakfast on a Thursday morning. Nothing too fancy here just good food at a reasonable price that really fueled up our hockey player for the day's games. Seemed to be a lot of locals enjoying it too.

You can drive right by the Dawning, even when you are looking for it (don't ask me how I know :-) ) as it s tucked away in a little mall along Portage; however if you miss it that is your loss. Talk about customer service. Right from when you step in the door you are made to feel welcome. Order two coffees as you are going to be joined later, you'll only get one as they will wait until the other person arrives. Subtle but powerful example of thinking of the customer comes first!
The prices are extremely reasonable and the quality is top notch. We had the Eggs Benedict. Tons of tasty hollandaise, a generous portion of home fries and if you have the one with corned beef (which I highly recommend), your hash is piled on top of your taters.
Try to finish a cup of coffee and get to the bottom. Always attentive and making sure your are topped up. A great experience and will be back! -

Pancakes eggs and bacon were good. Eggs Benedict not so much. Price is good service was good.

The best breakfast in Winnipeg not withstanding Stella's. The farmers hash no tomatoes with three eggs on top with hollandaise sauce. Do not order the chicken burger it's makes the owner angry.
